Goal:
The Goal for this website is to share my story and help empower students in primary schools around Adelaide to stand up and speak out against bullying and take control (CTRL) of the situation+(SHIFT) the power of the bully +escape (ESC) the bullying situation in all primary schools around Adelaide. what is bullying:
bullying is when someone uses strength or influence to harm or intimidate those who are weaker. How it can happen: Bullying can happen when >The bully doesn't like someone >Because they find bullying fun >Because the bully likes to feel strong an in control of everything >They also think that by bullying others will make them popular >They have problems at home and take it out on others Who it can happen to: Bullying can happen to anyone however the most vulnerable are the less popular people they are most likely to get bullied because they may have less friends or they don't have good clothes etc. When does bullying occur and for how long? •A student can be bullied by one child or mobbed by a group for years. •Bullying can happen from time to time or over a long period of time. •Some children are bullied wherever they go like parties (if they even get invited), shops playgrounds and at any school. •Bullying occurs in any school: public, private, small, large, single sex, co-educational schools. •Bullying occurs in primary, secondary, boarding schools, University and in the workplace. types of bullying: The types of bullying are as followed >Physical bullying >verbal bullying >cyber bullying Bullies: •Many bullies are not even aware or don't realise that their behaviours are mean or abusive. • They know that they're taking the target's power away because otherwise they couldn't do it. •Most bullies don't know that their bullying behaviours can boomerang back later on and hurt them. Targets: •The crucial feature - target feels powerless and bullied. •The critical issue - extent of physical, psychological and other damage that injures the victim. •The impact on the target is made worse by fear of future attacks and fear adults won't help |
